With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in just one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. Teeth Veneers (Porcelain)
Veneers are a very thin pieces of resilient, tooth shaped, porcelain that are custom made (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to create a beautiful and attractive smile.
Veneers can entirely improve your teeth and smile. They can often be alternatives to crowns and the ideal solution in treating numerous cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.
Similar to many dental restorations, veneers may someday need replacement; however, they are still really resilient and will last many years, giving you a long lasting, lovely smile.
How Are Veneers Set?
Veneers are a dental treatment where a covering is placed over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are typically only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or smiling. The treatment can be direct or indirect.
The direct method normally involves positioning composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This approach is generally referred to as bonding.
The indirect strategy usually involves 2 appointments because the veneers will be fabricated at a dental laboratory. At the very first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are offered a short-term covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the laboratory, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The lab fabricated veneers are generally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are very esthetic.
The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the procedure is typically less unpleasant. Veneers are not suggested for teeth that have large fillings or little tooth structure.
You will receive care directions for your veneers. Appropriate brushing, flossing and routine dental visits will aid in the life of your new and lovely veneers.
