Same day crowns
In the past, getting dental crowns suggested coming into the dentist's office at least 2 times. The very first check-up involved getting an impression of your tooth and a short-term crown. Then, a few weeks later, a second visit permitted the temporary crown to be eliminated and a brand-new long-term crown to be placed on your tooth. We use the latest innovation making dental work easier for you and your busy schedule, with same day crowns.

Getting Dental Crowns
We are proud to use a state-of-the-art same day crown innovation to develop ceramic onlays and crowns that fit perfectly, in just one visit with a little camera to produce a 3D picture of the tooth that needs to be repaired. This indicates a physical mold, which is undesirable and time consuming, is no longer necessary.

Using CAD/CAM software, We develop a perfectly fitting restoration using an on-site milling machine. This technology can develop the new restoration in as little as 15 minutes.

The restoration is connected to your tooth using a bonding product, and the new addition will match your natural teeth so nobody will ever know you had a repair.

Call us today for more information about same day crowns technology, and take care of those problems you may have been postponing.

Today's Topic Is:

Dental Crowns

A crown (or cap) is a covering that covers the entire tooth surface area restoring it to its initial shape and size. A crown protects and reinforces the tooth structure giving the tooth a longer life span than it would have if brought back by fillings or other types of restorations.

Crowns are full coverage restorations that are used to cover a tooth that is most likely to break, or is too broken down to be brought back with a filling. They are most typically done after root canal treatments, or when a big filling breaks. The bigger the hole made by a cavity that has to be treated, the more likely a crown will be needed. Even after a filling is put in a large cavity, a tooth is more likely to break. Remember that the jaw muscles are the strongest in the human body. Teeth go through remarkable pressures. Crowns ride over the weakened tooth, providing strength and securing the tooth against damage. A broken or split tooth is a far more serious matter and much more hard to treat. Crowns prevent this, along with producing a good smile.

It takes two appointments to recover a tooth with a crown. In the very first visit any decay is removed from the tooth and it is shaped to accept the crown. Then an impression is made of the tooth for use in producing a crown. Between the two visits the crown is made, generally of high-strength porcelain over gold alloy, all ceramic material, or gold. A temporary crown is worn during this time. In the 2nd visit this short-term crown is removed. Then the {permanent crown is adjusted as needed and then cemented in place.

Exactly What Does Getting A Crown Include?

A crown treatment generally needs two appointments. Your very first appointment will consist of taking impressions that will be used to develop your customized crown. A mold will also be utilized to develop a short-term crown which will stay on your tooth for approximately two weeks until your brand-new crown is fabricated by a dental lab.

While the tooth is numb, the dental practitioner will prepare the tooth by removing any decay and shaping the surface to effectively fit the crown. As soon as these details are accomplished, your temporary crown will be placed with short-term cement and your bite will be examined to guarantee you are biting appropriately.

At your 2nd appointment your temporary crown will be removed, the tooth will be cleaned, and your new crown will be thoroughly positioned to guarantee the spacing and bite are precise.

You will be given care directions and encouraged to have regular dental visits to examine your crown. As always, proper oral hygiene will help extend the life of your brand-new crown.
