Same day crowns are a dental restoration innovation that permits a dentist to produce an indirect ceramic dental restoration using computer-assisted technologies, including 3-D photography and CAD/CAM (computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing).

Same day crowns allows dental practitioners the flexibility to fix teeth in a single sitting with a patient, instead of the multiple visits required with other techniques!

Same day crowns have been shown by hundreds of medical studies and is provided by countless dental practitioners to millions of patients around the world each year!

Same day crowns not just saves you money and time, it can also save your teeth!

Dental X-rays are unable to penetrate metal crowns, making any degeneration undetectable up until it was far too late.

Same day crowns use a strong porcelain that x-rays can penetrate. This indicates any decay underneath the restoration can be discovered and treated before it ends up being a big issue.

Since same day crown technology use a milling unit to mill the ceramic into your custom restoration, the porcelain is stronger than those developed by hand. And, the computer-assisted innovation can develop an practically identical restoration of the previous tooth.

Same Day Crown Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take exact digital imagery of areas needing restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in just one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to produce your crown.

CEREC can be used in a full scope of indications: partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, and onlays.

Today's Topic Is:

Temporal Mandibular Joint

TMJ means temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint might be triggered by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are associated with the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, sometimes extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can consist of replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling spaces in between teeth, etc. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. In some cases a plastic mouthpiece is used to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the issue. If unattended and taken to extremes, surgery might be needed to fix a severely damaged joint.
