One Day Crowns And Teeth Restorations

Do you have to get a dental crown? Or will you quickly be requiring a dental procedure that will cause you to need a dental crown? If so, you might be starting to dread the time you will need to invest at the dentist's office. At our dental practice, we provide a fantastic time-saving solution for you. We provide same day crowns at our practice!

At our practice we are proud to have professional and highly-trained dental practitioners on staff. At our dental practice we include state-of-the-art innovations and procedures to provide our patients with the best restorative, precautionary, implant, and cosmetic dentistry care. For patients who need to get dental crowns, we are really happy to be able to provide same day crowns.

Crowns and caps are two various names for the same thing. A dental crown is a restoration that is usually made from porcelain. It is a strong structure that is used to cover a tooth on all four sides to help reinforce the tooth and improve its function.

Crowns can also be used to connect bridges, as the top part of a dental implant, or to prevent a broken tooth from becoming weaker. Crowns can also be used to reinforce a tooth after a root canal procedure.

Crowns are also used for purely visual reasons, such as to cover a severely stained tooth that needs to be brought back to its initial, attractive appearance.

Normally getting a dental crown is a lengthy treatment. The dentist will have to take impressions, provide you with a temporary crown, wait for the crown to be returned from a lab, and then have you return to the office so that it can be permanently connected. Today at our practice patients can get same day crowns in about 2 hours.

Our same day crowns are produced in our office thanks to our CAD-CAM innovation.

CAD-CAM represents "computer-aided-design-computer-aided-manufacture." Computers are used to take pictures which are then computer-analyzed and used to create a crown.

This crown is in fact milled by a computer in our office. The crown will fit your mouth precisely and remove any need to send impressions or pictures to an outside laboratory.

All this is done while you wait, getting rid of the need to come back for a second visit.

You also will not need to get a short-term crown, because our permanent crown will be instantly available to you.

If you would like to consult with our dental practitioner to find out more about same day crowns or to obtain a same day crown, call our office.

Today's Topic Has To Do With:

Dental Bonding (Composite)

Bonding is a procedure where we apply a tooth-colored composite material to a tooth, shape it, allow it to solidify, and polish it. It can be utilized in specific scenarios where a tooth has actually been broken or ended up being stained. These are normally small repairs, ones that can be resolved through this fairly affordable means instead of through a more pricey dental treatment.

How It Works:
Bonding involves adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to repair damage done to the tooth by decay, to alter the alignment of the tooth, close spaces in between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface of the tooth is roughed up in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface area, and a primer/bond agent is applied so the material adheres to the surface area. Then the material itself is placed on the tooth and hardened with intense light. The composite resin material is shaped and polished to get a lustrous finish as a last step.
