A Few Advantages Of Getting A Same Day Crown

Crowns are a very common dental treatment that is often required when somebody's tooth is broken or if the tooth has broken down to the point where a filling will not work.

Common crowns are relatively bothersome to obtain, however there is an alternative. Same-day crowns are a great option because they are more convenient and result in less discomfort:

A Lot Less Painful

A standard crown can result in discomfort for a few factors, but one of the greatest sources of pain and discomfort is an outcome of needing to get a short-term crown.

A short-term crown is applied as a placeholder to protect your exposed tooth up until your long-term crown can be provided to your dental practitioner. This can take anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of weeks.

The issue with a short-term crown is that they are not really strong, which indicates that they can break or come loose extremely quickly.

A busted or loose temporary crown will expose your tooth to liquids and food, both of which can trigger a fair bit of pain if they reach the exposed nerves below the short-term crown.

Another source of discomfort originates from a loose crown rubbing along your gums. This rubbing can reach the point where it can get fairly unpleasant and start to bleed, which also opens the course for potential infections.

The good news is, a same-day crown will offer you with a permanent crown at the end of your first visit to the dental practitioner.

This gets rid of the need for a short-term crown, hence allowing you to avoid all of the pain and discomfort.

More Convenient

A traditional crown is not a very convenient treatment to have carried out, mainly since it typically takes at least 2 visits to complete.

If your temporary crown is broken or falls off, which is common, you will need to make another appointment to have it replaced. This can be a big problem if you have a busy schedule on your hands, or if you have a job that prevents requiring time off in the middle of a hectic work day.

Nevertheless, a same-day crown can be completed in a single day, with a single visit. This is enabled due to the fact that numerous dentists will purchase the equipment to make their own crowns, instead of having to buy crowns from a dental lab.

This lets you prevent the trouble of having to possibly spend weeks and several visits to your dentist before the treatment is over and done with.

Speak with your dental practitioner and inquire about the benefits provided by a same-day crown. A same-day crown can provide you with a practical and fairly pain-free option to a traditional crown.

Today We Will Be Talking About:

Temporal Mandibular Joint

TMJ means temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Issues in this joint might be brought on by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and 5 muscles are involved in the area. If something goes wrong a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can cause:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, often extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can consist of replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling spaces between teeth, and so on. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Often a plastic mouthpiece is used to prevent clenching or grinding that is contributing to the issue. If neglected and taken to extremes, surgery may be needed to fix a terribly damaged joint.
