Why Choose Same Day Dental Crowns?

There are many benefits of same day crowns over standard crown technology.

  • Time: Same day crowns are made in one visit, conserving you substantial time away from your job and family.

  • Comfort: With same day crowns, there is no requirement for a short-term crown, which eliminates significant potential discomfort and inconvenience of a lost short-term restoration. Only one appointment means only one injection, or no injections if the tooth was formerly treated with a root canal. No traditional impressions which means there is no gagging.

  • Aesthetics: The strong, tooth-colored ceramic materials of this new technology restores your teeth to their natural durability, beauty, and function and carefully match the structure of natural tooth structure.

  • Durability: Milled ceramic is stronger than the traditional method of layering and pressing, so your smile will stay beautiful for multiple years!

  • Fillings: Same day crown material and technology can also be used for fillings. Since they are made out of porcelain, they are more resilient than white composite fillings. They are a lot more aesthetic than mercury consisting of silver fillings and stronger because of bonding technology.

If you have any more questions about same day crowns or porcelain crowns, please do not hesitate to contact our office today. We will address any concerns you have and you can make an appointment to consult with our dental practitioner personally.

Today's Subject Is:

Temporal Mandibular Joint

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Issues in this joint may be brought on by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are involved in the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, sometimes extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling gaps in between teeth, and so on. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Sometimes a plastic mouthpiece is utilized to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the problem. If untreated and taken to extremes, surgery might be required to fix a terribly damaged joint.
