CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital images of areas needing restoration and produce the suitable restoration on the spot.

Today's Topic Will Be:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental problems.

Spotting problems with x-rays before they become problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the need for more extensive, pricey treatments or surgeries. X-rays are primarily utilized to spot:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have multiple advantages over conventional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays allow us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from conventional dental x-rays. The worry of direct exposure to excess radiation is removed.

Large on-screen X-rays make client communication more effective. The immediate observation of the images on the screen enables us to discuss your dental health quickly and precisely.

Digital radiography has greatly improved the practice of dentistry. It allows the client and the medical professional to see pictures of the teeth in greater resolution on a huge format for much easier detection of issues, all while decreasing the radiation exposure to the client. The process we use further defines the radiograph, resulting in clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available quickly after exposure, getting rid of the wait and effort spent establishing and installing x-rays. If an image needs to be retaken, it can be done immediately. Digital format also allows us to send out and receive your images electronically for consultation that can be presented to you rapidly.
