Same day crowns are an innovative dental technology that is utilized for the restoration of decayed, broken, or chipped teeth. This innovation can create complete crowns, onlays, inlays, and veneers. The same day crown device crafts a restoration in a matter of minutes.

Same day crown restorations are made of compressed porcelain. It is for this reason that they are more durable than laboratory restorations, which are layered porcelain. The most beneficial feature of getting a same day crown restoration is that it is achieved in one visit. In addition to the advantage of a one appointment restoration, there is no uncomfortable impression product to bite on or a temporary crown to wear.

The procedure for positioning of a same day crown restoration is really basic. The primary step is to remove all decay from the tooth. The dentist will then form the tooth in preparation to take a digital photo. The tooth is then sprayed with a very fine powder. This permits the digital camera to take an acceptable image. Once this image is recorded, the tooth will appear on a computer screen in 3D. This will allow the dentist to develop the restoration right in front of you.

Once the design is completed, the same day crown machine will mill the restoration. This step takes approximately 15 minutes. You can actually see this procedure if you would like. When the restoration is completed milling, the dental practitioner will place the restoration on your tooth.

The Discussion For Today Is:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental issues.

Finding issues with x-rays before they end up being problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the requirement for more extensive, costly procedures or surgeries. X-rays are mainly utilized to identify:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have numerous advantages over traditional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays allow us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from conventional dental x-rays. The concern of direct exposure to excess radiation is removed.

Large on-screen X-rays make patient communication more efficient. The immediate observation of the images on the screen enables us to discuss your dental health quickly and properly.

Digital radiography has significantly improved the practice of dentistry. It allows the client and the physician to see images of the teeth in greater resolution on a big format for much easier detection of issues, all while decreasing the radiation exposure to the client. The process we use further defines the radiograph, leading to clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available immediately after exposure, eliminating the wait and effort spent establishing and mounting x-rays. If an image needs to be retaken, it can be done immediately. Digital format also allows us to send out and receive your images electronically for consultation that can be presented to you quickly.
