Single Visit Crowns And Teeth Restorations

Do you have to get a dental crown? Or will you quickly be requiring a dental treatment that will cause you to need a dental crown? If so, you might be beginning to dread the time you will have to invest at the dental practitioner's office. At our dental practice, we provide a excellent time-saving option for you. We offer same day crowns at our practice!

At our practice we are proud to have professional and highly-trained dental practitioners on staff. At our dental practice we include cutting edge innovations and procedures to supply our patients with the very best restorative, preventive, implant, and cosmetic dentistry care. For clients who need to get dental crowns, we are really pleased to be able to provide same day crowns.

Crowns and caps are 2 various names for the same thing. A dental crown is a restoration that is normally made of porcelain. It is a strong structure that is used to cover a tooth on all four sides to help strengthen the tooth and enhance its function.

Crowns can also be used to connect bridges, as the top portion of a dental implant, or to prevent a broken tooth from ending up being weaker. Crowns can also be used to strengthen a tooth after a root canal procedure.

Crowns are also used for purely visual reasons, such as to cover a seriously tarnished tooth that has to be brought back to its initial, attractive look.

Generally getting a dental crown is a prolonged procedure. The dental practitioner will need to take impressions, supply you with a short-term crown, await the crown to be returned from a laboratory, and then have you go back to the office so that it can be permanently attached. Today at our practice patients can get same day crowns in about 2 hours.

Our same day crowns are created in our office thanks to our CAD-CAM innovation.

CAD-CAM means "computer-aided-design-computer-aided-manufacture." Computers are used to take pictures which are then computer-analyzed and used to develop a crown.

This crown is in fact milled by a computer in our office. The crown will fit your mouth exactly and get rid of any need to send out impressions or photos to an outside laboratory.

All this is done while you wait, getting rid of the need to come back for a second appointment.

You also will not need to get a crown, given that our permanent crown will be instantly offered to you.

If you wish to consult with our dental practitioner to find out more about same day crowns or to obtain a same day crown, contact our practice.

Same Day Crown Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital images of areas requiring restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in simply one visit. We will develop and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to fabricate your crown.

CEREC can be used for a wide range of indications: partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, and onlays.

The Discussion Of The Day Will Be:

Temporal-Mandibular Joint

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint might be brought on by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle stress. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are involved in the area. If something goes wrong a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, often extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can consist of replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling spaces between teeth, etc. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Sometimes a plastic mouth piece is used to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the problem. If neglected and taken to extremes, surgery may be needed to fix a severely damaged joint.
