Today's Subject Will Be:

Dentures (Dental)

There are various types of dentures, however they share their common function. They replace teeth that have become loose or been lost due to bone loss. When bone loss around the roots of teeth is great enough to let them fall out or loosen them, it's time for dentures. Relax. Nobody enjoys losing their natural teeth, but you can still eat and talk regularly.

The entire mouth is examined and a decision is made regarding which teeth will have to be removed, and which will remain. The loose teeth are then extracted. Dentures are fitted to go around or over whatever teeth stay in the mouth, depending on the type. There is an adjustment time after dentures are positioned in the mouth, and it can take some getting used to. But once accustomed to the dentures, all the normal functionality and appearance return and one simply continues as usual. Typically implants can be utilized to further stabilize the dentures.

It is important to keep in mind that life with an upper denture, a lower denture, and especially both, is a significant lifestyle change when compared with natural teeth. Dentures impact the kind of food you have the ability to eat, your self-esteem in social situations, and even your self-confidence.

Reasons For Getting A Full Denture:

  • All Teeth missing in the very same arch

  • Restore chewing capability

  • Restore a natural looking smile

  • Economical alternative to other procedures

An upper complete denture will usually feel better than a lower complete denture. In order to drastically enhance the fit of a lower full denture, we often recommend using dental implants as a retentive mechanism. 2 dental implants put in the lower jaw can help anchor the denture and significantly improve comfort. Sometimes, the implants can even be positioned in the jaw after a denture has been in use for a number of years.
