If You Require A Crown This Is The Best Option

Getting a crown has actually long been known to be a two-visit dental experience. Lots of people have no idea that this is not the case with same day crowns. For our lucky clients, getting a crown only takes one appointment!

The Traditional Two-Visit Way

At the very first appointment, impressions are taken of the tooth and the impression is sent to a laboratory so that your permanent crown can be made. Many individuals dislike the goopy impression materials that can make them gag and that takes up to five minutes in their mouth to set.

Then your tooth is shaved down so that your crown can be positioned on top of it. Then you receive a temporary crown cemented over the shaved tooth to hold you over till your long-term crown shows up from the lab. Then later, you need to go back in to the dentist, have the temporary crown taken out and the new crown positioned on your tooth

Today's Topic Will Be:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental problems.

Spotting problems with x-rays before they become problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the need for more extensive, expensive treatments or surgeries. X-rays are mostly utilized to identify:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have a number of advantages over conventional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays enable us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from traditional dental x-rays. The concern of exposure to excess radiation is removed.

Huge on-screen X-rays make client communication more efficient. The immediate observation of the images on the screen allows us to discuss your dental health quickly and properly.

Digital radiography has greatly improved the practice of dentistry. It enables the patient and the doctor to see images of the teeth in higher resolution on a large format for much easier detection of problems, all while decreasing the radiation direct exposure to the patient. The process we use further defines the radiograph, resulting in clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available immediately after exposure, removing the wait and effort spent establishing and installing x-rays. If an image needs to be retaken, it can be done immediately. Digital format also allows us to send out and get your images digitally for consultation that can be provided to you quickly.
