We always stay on the cutting-edge for our valued clients!

What Are Single Day Dental Crowns?

It is a technology for fixing broken teeth, and this restoration can be completed in a single appointment at our office. It makes your teeth tougher and more beautiful - all while keeping your teeth looking natural. The restoration is metal-free and the high-grade ceramic material and is compatible with the natural tissue found in your mouth.

During your visit, you and your dental practitioner will go over the details of the procedure and your dentist will answer any questions you might have concerning the procedure or porcelain crowns in general.

Your dentist will then use a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a unique 3D imaging camera to take a picture of your tooth. Using the new proprietary software, your restoration will be designed according to your tooth's appropriate form and function.

Then, it will use a diamond burs to create your restoration from a piece of ceramic. Finally, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using advanced adhesive dentistry.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take exact digital images of areas requiring restoration and produce the proper restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in simply one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to produce your crown.

Today Were Discussing:

TMJ (Temporal Mandibular Joint)

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint might be caused by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle stress. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are associated with the area. If something goes wrong a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble or soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, often extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can consist of replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling gaps in between teeth, and so on. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. In some cases a plastic mouth piece is used to prevent clenching or grinding that is contributing to the problem. If untreated and taken to extremes, surgery may be required to repair a severely damaged joint.
