At our dental practice we do same day crowns. You may ask, what are same day crowns and exactly what can it do for me?

It is a 3D system that lets us make porcelain crowns and inlays all in one visit. We have actually now been using this innovation for many years and like it more than ever.

Same day crowns are an in-surgery computer system that enables us to fix damaged or missing tooth structures with a ceramic material that's as close to a natural tooth as is possible.

This is done while you are in the practice, in simply one visit. All ceramic porcelain inlays and onlays, veneers and crowns that look and feel like natural teeth can be made and fitted in a single visit, generally in about an hour.

So exactly what is the procedure?

We scan the opposite teeth and the way the teeth bite together first. We eliminate the old filling, and degeneration and any thin weak tooth product and scan the prepared tooth.

After this we stop working in the mouth and begin working on the computer.

Everybody likes seeing the pictures of their teeth and the creating of their new tooth. We make 3D design and this information is sent out to the milling system.

Everyone asks if this is like 3D printing and yes it is, but the tooth is not developed layer by layer, it is cut back from a block in the machine, which is much more durable.

The block is then exactly carved to produce your brand-new restoration, which is great.

At last, the custom made crown restoration bonded seamlessly into the tooth, reinforcing and sealing it at the same time then we clean up!

We have to make certain that you can bite properly, that its smooth and that you can floss.

Same Day Teeth Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take exact digital imagery of areas requiring restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in just one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to fabricate your crown.

CEREC can be utilized for a wide scope of indications: partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, and onlays.

Today's Conversation Is About:

Ultra-Sonic Teeth Cleaning

We use ultrasonic scalers for most adult dental cleanings. These devices use ultrasonic vibrations to help breakdown the plaque and calculus on the teeth that trigger gingivitis and periodontal disease. The ultrasonic cleaners develop tiny bubbles that implode on the surface of the tooth, eliminating microbes and eliminating plaque and tartar at the same time. Our instruments use a thin tip to better navigate in the gum pockets to help maintain optimal gingival health.

  • The treatment only uses water, no chemicals are used.

  • It can eliminate tartar buildup in hard-to-reach areas, without any damage to the tooth enamel.

  • Manual scaling often uses pressure for cleaning, while the vibration produced by the scaling tip of an ultrasonic scaler is hardly noticeable. This makes ultrasonic cleaning suitable to those with delicate teeth.

  • The cleaning process is faster than manual scaling making your visit more comfortable.

After your teeth have actually been cleaned with the ultrasonic cleaner, your teeth will be hand scaled to check for any residual deposits and then polished.
