CROWNS DENTIST

At our dental practice we do same day crowns. You may ask, exactly what are same day crowns and what can it do for me?

It is a 3D system that lets us make porcelain crowns and inlays all in one appointment. We have actually now been using this technology for multiple years and love it more than ever.

Same day crowns are an in-surgery computer system that enables us to fix broken or missing tooth structures with a ceramic product that's as close to a natural tooth as is possible.

This is done while you are in the practice, in simply one appointment. All ceramic porcelain inlays and onlays, veneers and crowns that look like natural teeth can be made and placed in a single visit, usually in about an hour.

So what is the treatment?

We scan the opposite teeth and the method the teeth bite together first. We eliminate the old filling, and decay and any thin weak tooth material and scan the prepared tooth.

After this we stop working in the mouth and begin working on the computer.

Everybody likes seeing the pictures of their teeth and the creating of their new tooth. We make 3D design and this information is sent out to the milling unit.

Everybody asks if this is like 3D printing and yes it is, but the tooth isn't developed layer by layer, it is cut back from a block in the machine, which is much more durable.

The block is then precisely sculpted to produce your brand-new restoration, which is wonderful.

At last, the custom made crown restoration bonded effortlessly into the tooth, enhancing and sealing it at the same time and then we tidy up!

We need to ensure that you can bite correctly, that its smooth and that you can floss.

Today We Will Be Discussing:

Teeth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the top aesthetic concern of a lot of clients, there are a number of ways to lighten teeth. The most popular technique is using a home tooth bleaching system that will lighten teeth dramatically. Since tooth bleaching just works on natural tooth enamel, it is very important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after whitening so they will match the recently bleached teeth.

Most dentists use a number of methods: customizeded tray lightening, professional strength white strips, and in-office lightening.

The tray approach involves having impressions taken, which the lab makes into customized vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole procedure takes about a week of everyday use. Three different strengths of gel might be used, however, the greater the strength, the greater the likelihood of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray method is advised for badly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take numerous months of use to see substantial color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a very quick and practical bleaching process. The appointment is roughly one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our patients enjoy this treatment due to the fact that it is so easy and fast!

Tooth bleaching is not permanent. A touch-up may be needed once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For maintenance of whitened teeth the trays need to be used every couple of months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation during tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.).
