Why Choose Single Visit Dental Crowns?

There are many advantages of single visit crowns over standard crown technology.

  • Time: Same day crowns are made in one appointment, conserving you significant time away from your job and family.

  • Convenience: With same day crowns, there is no need for a temporary crown, which eliminates significant potential pain and inconvenience of a lost short-term restoration. Only one appointment means only one injection, or no injections if the tooth was previously treated with a root canal. No conventional impressions which means there is no gagging.

  • Looks: The strong, tooth-colored ceramic materials of this brand-new innovation restores your teeth to their natural durability, appeal, and function and closely match the structure of natural tooth structure.

  • Durability: Milled ceramic is stronger than the standard technique of layering and pressing, so your smile will remain gorgeous for multiple years!

  • Fillings: Same day crown material and technology can also be used for fillings. Because they are constructed out of porcelain, they are more durable than white composite fillings. They are much more aesthetic than mercury consisting of silver fillings and tougher because of bonding innovation.

If you have any more questions about same day crowns or porcelain crowns, please don't hesitate to call our office today. We will answer any concerns you have and you can make an appointment to talk to our dentist personally.

Today Were Discussing:

Fillings

Fillings are done to eliminate decay, and replace the afflicted tooth structure. It is called a filling since new material fills the hole that the decay left. Now days most teeth are treated with bonded tooth colored composite resin fillings. Caught early enough, cavities can be treated easily and painlessly. If not treated, decay can lead to tooth pain and/or infection, and the tooth would require a root canal treatment or extraction.

There are 2 kinds of fillings; amalgam or silver fillings, and composite or white fillings. Composite fillings are tooth-colored to blend in with the remaining natural part of the tooth. Most dentists supply both types of fillings, however find that a number of their patients like the composite fillings.

The term composite refers to the actual filling material which is a mix of glass or quartz filler in a resin medium.

Composite fillings offer good resilience and resistance to fracture in small-to-mid size restorations that need to stand up to moderate chewing pressure. Less tooth structure is removed when the dentist prepares the tooth, and this might lead to a smaller filling than with of an amalgam.

In addition, composites are "bonded", or adhesively connected, to the tooth, often enabling a more conservative repair for the tooth. Composite fillings require that the tooth be kept clean and dry throughout the whole filling procedure and they undergo stain and discoloration in time. The life expectancy of a white filling can depend significantly on where it is in your mouth and how heavily your teeth come together when you bite.

Composite filling material is also frequently utilized to fix front teeth that have cracked or worn. Where possible, esthetic bonding of composite material to front teeth is typically much cheaper than veneers or crowns. However, bonding typically does not last as long as veneers or crowns.
