At our dental practice we do same day crowns. You may be asking, what are same day crowns and exactly what can it do for me?

It is a 3D system that lets us make porcelain crowns and inlays all in one appointment. We have now been using this innovation for multiple years and love it more than ever.

Same day crowns are an in-surgery computer system that permits us to fix broken or missing tooth structures with a ceramic material that's as close to a natural tooth as is possible.

This is done while you are in the practice, in just one appointment. All ceramic porcelain inlays and onlays, veneers and crowns that look and feel like natural teeth can be made and fitted in a single appointment, usually in about an hour.

So exactly what is the treatment?

We scan the opposite teeth and the method the teeth bite together first. We remove the old filling, and decay and any thin weak tooth material and scan the prepared tooth.

After this we stop working in the mouth and begin working with the computer.

Everybody likes seeing the pictures of their teeth and the creating of their brand-new tooth. We make 3D design and this info is sent out to the milling system.

Everybody asks if this is like 3D printing and yes it is, but the tooth isn't developed layer by layer, it is cut from a block in the machine, which is much more durable.

The block is then precisely sculpted to produce your new restoration, which is great.

At last, the customized crown restoration bonded perfectly into the tooth, reinforcing and sealing it at the same time then we clean up!

We have to make certain that you can bite properly, that its smooth and that you can floss.

Today's Topic Will Be About:

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the number one aesthetic concern of many clients, there are multiple methods to lighten teeth. The most popular technique is utilizing a home tooth whitening system that will bleach teeth considerably. Since tooth lightening only works on natural tooth enamel, it is essential to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, and so on. Replacement of any restorations will be done after whitening so they will match the freshly bleached teeth.

Most dentists utilize a number of methods: customizeded tray bleaching, professional strength white strips, and in-office bleaching.

The tray technique involves having impressions taken, which the lab fabricates into customized vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is put in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole procedure takes about a week of daily use. 3 various strengths of gel may be used, however, the greater the strength, the greater the possibility of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray technique is recommended for badly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it might take multiple months of use to see considerable color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a very fast and convenient bleaching procedure. The appointment is approximately one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our clients enjoy this treatment because it is so easy and fast!

Tooth whitening is not permanent. A touch-up might be needed once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays should be used every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.).
