Our practice loves brand-new technology, particularly when it enhances the dental care that we can offer to our clients. Because of this we now offer same day crowns.

Same day crowns are a terrific new innovation where stunning all porcelain crowns are produced within 2 hours of the preparation of a tooth for a crown. The old process was where the dental practitioner prepared your tooth for a crown, took an impression and sent this impression to a laboratory to get the crown constructed. During this time the patient would need to wear a temporary plastic crown that was always uncomfy.

Today, our equipment allows us to scan the tooth preparation and mill out a new all porcelain crown within 2 hours. This means that the client leaves our office with the permanent crown that day!

  • There's no need to wear a temporary crown for 2 to 3 weeks.

  • There is no need to return once more to have the single day crown inserted on your tooth.

  • There is no need to be numbed once again! No more shots!

Our office chooses same day crowns due to the fact that it is made of stunning material and also extremely long lasting.

If your thinking about a same day crown, please give our practice a call.

Same Day Crown Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take exact digital images of locations requiring restoration and produce the proper restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in just one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to fabricate your crown.

CEREC can be used in a wide scope of indications: anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays, partial crowns and posterior crowns.

Today Were Discussing:

TMJ (Temporal-Mandibular Joint)

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint might be triggered by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle stress. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are associated with the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can cause:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, in some cases extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling gaps between teeth, and so on. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. In some cases a plastic mouth piece is used to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the problem. If neglected and required to extremes, surgery might be needed to fix a severely damaged joint.
