If You Require A Crown This Probably Is The Best Route To Go

Getting a crown has long been known to be a two-visit dental experience. Many individuals have no idea that this is not the case with same day crowns. For our lucky patients, getting a crown only takes one visit!

The Old Fashioned Two Visit Way

At the very first visit, impressions are taken of the tooth and the impression is sent to a lab so that your long-term crown can be made. Lots of people do not like the goopy impression materials that can make them gag and that takes up to 5 minutes in their mouth to set.

Then your tooth is shaved down so that your crown can be placed on top of it. Then you receive a short-term crown cemented over the shaved tooth to hold you over until your permanent crown shows up from the laboratory. Then later, you have to go back in to the dentist, have the short-term crown removed and the brand-new crown positioned on your tooth

Same Day Crown Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital images of locations requiring restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in just one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to fabricate your crown.

CEREC can be used for a full scope of indications: partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, and onlays.

The Discussion For Today Will Be:

Teeth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the primary aesthetic concern of a lot of patients, there are multiple ways to bleach teeth. The most popular technique is utilizing a home tooth bleaching system that will lighten teeth significantly. Since tooth bleaching only works on natural tooth enamel, it is essential to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, and so on. Replacement of any restorations will be done after bleaching so they will match the newly bleached teeth.

Most dentists utilize multiple methods: custom made tray lightening, professional strength white strips, and in-office bleaching.

The tray technique involves having impressions taken, which the lab produces into customized vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is put in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole process takes about a week of daily use. Three different strengths of gel might be used, however, the higher the strength, the greater the likelihood of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray method is suggested for badly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it might take numerous months of use to see considerable color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a extremely quick and hassle-free bleaching procedure. The visit is around one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our clients love this treatment because it is so simple and quick!

Tooth bleaching is not permanent. A touch-up may be needed once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays should be used every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of outer tooth layer.

  • Florousis (extreme fluoridation during tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
