Dental Dentures

There are different kinds of dentures, however they share their common function. They replace teeth that have become loose or been lost due to bone loss. When bone loss around the roots of teeth is great enough to let them fall out or loosen them, it's time for dentures. Relax. Nobody enjoys losing their natural teeth, however you can still eat and talk regularly.

The entire mouth is examined and a decision is made as to which teeth will have to be removed, and which will remain. The loose teeth are then extracted. Dentures are fitted to go around or over whatever teeth stay in the mouth, depending upon the type. There is an adjustment period after dentures are positioned in the mouth, and it can take some getting used to. Once accustomed to the dentures, all the normal performance and look return and one just carries on as usual. Frequently implants can be used to further support the dentures.

It is important to keep in mind that life with an upper denture, a lower denture, and especially both, is a significant lifestyle change when compared to natural teeth. Dentures affect the type of food you are able to eat, your confidence in social circumstances, and even your self-confidence.

A Few Reasons For Getting A Full Denture:

  • All Teeth missing in the exact same arch

  • Restore chewing capability

  • Restore a natural looking smile

  • Economical alternative to other procedures

An upper complete denture will often feel much better than a lower full denture. In order to significantly improve the fit of a lower complete denture, we regularly recommend utilizing dental implants as a retentive mechanism. 2 dental implants positioned in the lower jaw can help anchor the denture and substantially improve comfort. In some cases, the implants can even be put in the jaw after a denture has been in use for numerous years.
