Same Day Crowns - A Smart Technology

We aim to stay current with the multitude of technological advances that are occurring in dentistry. We are proud to have the same day crown technology in our office. It enables us to produce crowns and bigger restorations in our office. Same day crowns use the most innovative dental innovation, including 3D video imaging and CAD/CAM innovation. In layman's terms, it is a computer-designed restoration for your tooth. The whole procedure takes between 1-2 hours and can be completed in one sitting.

Normally, a crown in the past would have required 2 appointments. The very first appointment consists of preparing the tooth, taking the mold, and fitting a short-term crown. During the second visit, the short-term crown is replaced with the long-term one. With a same day crown, the whole procedure can be completed in just one visit. We will use video imaging innovation to tke a picture of the tooth and use CAD/CAM innovation to create the crown. This 3D design is wirelessly transferred to a milling machine that sculpts the restoration out of a vacuum formed ceramic block. We will then adhere the new crown to your tooth. This removes the need to get a short-term in addition to a 2nd visit.

Restorative dentistry treatments can be extremely important to the general health of your teeth and mouth. Please call our office and request a visit.

The Discussion Of The Day Will Be:

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the top aesthetic concern of the majority of clients, there are numerous methods to bleach teeth. The most popular technique is utilizing a home tooth bleaching system that will lighten teeth significantly. Because tooth lightening only works on natural tooth enamel, it is essential to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, and so on. Replacement of any restorations will be done after lightening so they will match the freshly bleached teeth.

Most dentists use numerous techniques: customizeded tray lightening, professional strength white strips, and in-office whitening.

The tray approach involves having impressions taken, which the lab produces into custom-made vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is put in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole procedure takes about a week of daily use. Three different strengths of gel might be used, however, the higher the strength, the greater the possibility of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray approach is recommended for badly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take a number of months of use to see considerable color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a very quick and convenient bleaching procedure. The visit is roughly one hour consisting of both the preparation and treatment. Our clients enjoy this treatment due to the fact that it is so easy and quick!

Tooth whitening is not permanent. A touch-up might be needed once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays need to be used every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of outer tooth layer.

  • Florousis (extreme fluoridation during tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
