Same day crowns
In the past, getting dental crowns implied coming into the dentist's office a minimum of two times. The first check-up involved getting an impression of your tooth and a short-term crown. Then, a couple of weeks later, a second check-up permitted the short-term crown to be removed and a new long-term crown to be positioned on your tooth. We use the latest innovation to make dental work more convenient for you and your day to day schedule, with same day crowns.

Getting Dental Crowns
We are proud to use a cutting edge same day crown technology to create ceramic onlays and crowns that fit perfectly, in just one check-up with a little camera to produce a 3D image of the tooth that needs to be fixed. This means a physical mold, which is unpleasant and time consuming, is no longer necessary.

Using CAD/CAM software, We create a perfectly fitting restoration using an on-site milling machine. This technology can develop the new restoration in as little as 15 minutes.

The restoration is adhered to your tooth using a bonding material, and the new addition will match your natural teeth so no one will ever know you had a repair.

Call us today to learn more about same day crowns innovation, and take care of those problems you may have been putting off.

Same Day Crown Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take exact digital images of areas requiring restoration and produce the suitable restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in just one visit. We will develop and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to produce your crown.

CEREC can be used in a wide range of indications: anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays, partial crowns and posterior crowns.

Today We Will Be Discussing:

TMJ (Temporal-Mandibular Joint)

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Issues in this joint might be triggered by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are involved in the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, often extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling gaps between teeth, etc. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Sometimes a plastic mouth piece is used to prevent clenching or grinding that is contributing to the problem. If untreated and taken to extremes, surgery may be needed to repair a severely damaged joint.
