Same Day Crowns - A Smart Innovation

We aim to stay current with the multitude of technological advances that are occurring in dentistry. We are proud to have the same day crown technology in our office. It enables us to produce crowns and larger restorations in our office. Same day crowns use the most sophisticated dental technology, consisting of 3D video imaging and CAD/CAM technology. In layman's terms, it is a computer-designed restoration for your tooth. The whole procedure takes between 1-2 hours and can be completed in one sitting.

Generally, a crown in the past would have required 2 appointments. The first appointment consists of preparing the tooth, taking the mold, and fitting a temporary crown. During the 2nd appointment, the temporary crown is replaced with the permanent one. With a same day crown, the whole procedure can be completed in simply one appointment. We will use video imaging innovation to photograph the tooth and use CAD/CAM innovation to design the crown. This 3D design is wirelessly transmitted to a milling machine that sculpts the restoration out of a vacuum formed ceramic block. We will then adhere the new crown to your tooth. This eliminates the need to get a short-term as well as a 2nd visit.

Restorative dentistry treatments can be essential to the general health of your teeth and mouth. Please call our office and request a consultation.

Same Day Teeth Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital imagery of locations needing restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in simply one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to make your crown.

CEREC can be used for a broad range of indications: anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays, partial crowns and posterior crowns.

Today's Topic Will Be About:

Porcelain Teeth Veneers

Veneers are a very thin pieces of long lasting, tooth shaped, porcelain that are custom made (for shape and color) by a professional dental laboratory. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a beautiful and appealing smile.

Veneers can completely improve your teeth and smile. They can commonly be alternatives to crowns and the perfect solution in treating many cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.

Similar to a lot of dental restorations, veneers might one day require replacement; however, they are still very long lasting and will last years, giving you a long lasting, lovely smile.

How Are Veneers Set?

Veneers are a dental procedure in which a covering is placed over the outside (visible area) of the tooth. Veneers are usually only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or grinning. The treatment can be direct or indirect.

The direct method generally involves positioning composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This method is generally referred to as bonding.

The indirect method generally involves 2 visits because the veneers will be fabricated at a dental lab. At the very first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are given a temporary covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the laboratory, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The laboratory fabricated veneers are generally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are really esthetic.

The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the procedure is typically less uncomfortable. Veneers are not recommended for teeth that have huge fillings or little tooth structure.

You will receive care instructions for your veneers. Proper brushing, flossing and routine dental visits will help in the life of your new and gorgeous veneers.
