There are various kinds of dentures, but they share their common function. They replace teeth that have actually become loose or been lost due to bone loss. When bone loss around the roots of teeth is big enough to let them fall out or loosen them, it's time for dentures. Relax. Nobody enjoys losing their natural teeth, however you can still eat and talk regularly.
The whole mouth is analyzed and a decision is made regarding which teeth will need to be removed, and which will remain. The loose teeth are then extracted. Dentures are fitted to go around or over whatever teeth remain in the mouth, depending upon the type. There is an adjustment period after dentures are placed in the mouth, and it can take some getting used to. Once accustomed to the dentures, all the normal capability and appearance return and one just continues as usual. Commonly implants can be used to further support the dentures.
It is essential to note that life with an upper denture, a lower denture, and especially both, is a major lifestyle change when as compared to natural teeth. Dentures impact the type of food you are able to eat, your self-confidence in social scenarios, as well as your self-confidence.
Reasons For Considering A Full Denture:
- All Teeth missing in the very same arch
- Restore chewing capability
- Restore a natural looking smile
- Economical alternative to other procedures
An upper full denture will usually feel much better than a lower full denture. In order to significantly improve the fit of a lower complete denture, we often recommend utilizing dental implants as a retentive mechanism. Two dental implants put in the lower jaw can help anchor the denture and substantially enhance comfort. In some cases, the implants can even be placed in the jaw after a denture has been in use for a number of years.
