Same Day Crowns At Your Regional Family Dentist

Same Day Crowns technology has altered how dental treatments will be done from now on. If crowns, onlays, inlays or dental veneers were required to fix damaged teeth, it used to indicate multiple appointments, a great deal of inconvenience, and often a lot of money.

This brand-new innovation makes these ceramic restorations within minutes in the dental office. It is made of several computer-assisted design (CAD) tools and a milling device that creates customized ceramic restorative devices. It also can make almost any ceramic restoration to order, meaning the dental practitioner can position it instantly. This is of terrific benefit to a nervous client, and it can also minimize the cost of treatment.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital images of areas requiring restoration and produce the proper restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in simply one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to produce your crown.

CEREC can be used in a wide scope of indications: veneers, inlays, onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns and anterior crowns.

Today's Topic Will Be About:

TMJ (Temporal Mandibular Joint)

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Issues in this joint may be triggered by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle stress. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and 5 muscles are associated with the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, sometimes extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can consist of replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling gaps between teeth, and so on. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Often a plastic mouthpiece is used to prevent clenching or grinding that is contributing to the issue. If unattended and taken to extremes, surgery might be needed to repair a badly damaged joint.
