If you have a fractured or busted tooth, are experiencing pain when chewing or exposed to hot or cold temperature levels, or want to get rid of unattractive metal crowns or fillings, then dental crowns might be a good alternative for you. Dental Crowns cover the outter surface of the affected tooth, adding toughness and stability to it.

Same-day dental crowns are a choice that we offer on a case by case basis to clients who would gain from the treatment. They enable patients to come to our office and leave within a couple hours with their permanent dental crown in place that same day. This removes the need to have a short-term crown placed and then another check-up arranged for the positioning of the final crown.

Our Same-Day Crowns are made with our brand-new innovation that scans the mouth to get the proper measurements of your tooth and surrounding teeth, and then makes your crown right there in the office. These restorations are extremely strong and durable and constructed of the highest quality porcelain available. In many cases, a gold crown might be advised for your posterior teeth (back teeth) if you grind or clench your teeth a lot.

Gold crowns are different from porcelain crowns, and the expense may vary between the two and you may wish to discuss your budget plan as well with the your dentist. Your dentist will discuss with you the types of crowns available and offer you a suggestion based upon your certain circumstance.

Call us to arrange a complimentary cosmetic consultation. We look forward to meeting you.

Temporal-Mandibular Joint

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Issues in this joint may be caused by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are associated with the area. If something goes wrong a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble or soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, sometimes extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling spaces in between teeth, etc. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Sometimes a plastic mouthpiece is utilized to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the issue. If untreated and taken to extremes, surgery may be needed to repair a badly damaged joint.
