Two Reasons To Speak To Your Dental Expert Regarding Same Day Crowns

Same day crowns are a excellent option that makes getting a crown a lot more practical and less time-consuming. These crowns operate in much the same method as standard crowns, except that same-day crowns are made in the dental practitioner's office while you are waiting, rather than being bought from a dental laboratory like standard crowns.

Here are two reasons to talk to your dentist about the possibility of getting a same day crown:

Far more Convenient

Convenience is going to be the biggest reason that lot of individuals decide to go with a same-day crown.

In the past, getting a crown would mean that you would have to pay numerous appointments to your dentist before the crown was in position, with one visit committed to preparing your tooth and another appointment to position the long-term crown over your tooth.

While that may not appear like it is too time-consuming, it can often be hard to take some time off from your job or family multiple times in the space of a week or two in order to see your dental practitioner throughout normal business hours.

Because the same-day crown is manufactured in-house by your dental practitioner, you will have the last crown fitted over the tooth before you leave from your one required crown appointment.

This is useful due to the fact that you won't have to stress over irritating your boss, having your colleagues cover for you, or losing out on pay due to the fact that you needed to leave in the middle of the work day multiple times to go to the dentist.

A Lot More Comfortable

Another reason to ask your dentist for a same-day crown is comfort. Same day crowns are more comfy due to the fact that you won't have to spend a week or more wearing a short-term crown while waiting for your long-term crown.

A temporary crown can often give quite a bit of irritation and discomfort because it can typically become loose easily.

When a temporary crown is loose, it can enable liquids to get under it and touch nerves in the exposed roots of your tooth. The loose fit can also trigger the short-term crown to move along your gum and trigger the skin to end up being scratched and irritated.

While you normally do not have to wear a short-term crown for long, a same-day crown can allow you to avoid any issues associated with the short-term crown completely.

This kind of crown is going to be both a lot more comfy and a lot more convenient to get than a traditional crown.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital images of areas requiring restoration and produce the proper restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in simply one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to produce your crown.

CEREC can be used in a wide range of indications: posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays and partial crowns.

Today's Subject Is:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental issues.

Discovering problems with x-rays before they end up being problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the need for more extensive, costly treatments or surgeries. X-rays are mostly used to find:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have a number of advantages over conventional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays enable us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from conventional dental x-rays. The worry of direct exposure to excess radiation is removed.

Huge on-screen X-rays make client communication more efficient. The immediate observation of the images on the screen enables us to discuss your dental health quickly and accurately.

Digital radiography has greatly enhanced the practice of dentistry. It allows the client and the physician to see pictures of the teeth in greater resolution on a big format for much easier detection of problems, all while decreasing the radiation direct exposure to the patient. The procedure we use further defines the radiograph, resulting in clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available quickly after exposure, eliminating the wait and effort spent developing and installing x-rays. If an image needs to be retaken, it can be done immediately. Digital format also enables us to send and get your images electronically for consultation that can be presented to you rapidly.
