Although dental crowns are considered along with other procedures that fall under the cosmetic dentistry category, they can help to greatly enhance any individual's oral health. A dental crown is then used to help restore exactly what parts of the tooth were lost so that it can work as it once did, fixing the oral well being of the patient.

Today's Conversation Has To Do With:

Composite Dental Bonding

Bonding is a procedure where we apply a tooth-colored composite product to a tooth, shape it, allow it to solidify, and polish it. It can be utilized in specific circumstances where a tooth has been damaged or become stained. These are typically small repairs, ones that can be resolved through this reasonably inexpensive means instead of through a more expensive dental procedure.

Here Is How It Works:
Bonding involves adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to repair damage done to the tooth by decay, to alter the positioning of the tooth, close gaps between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface of the tooth is roughened in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface area, and a primer/bond agent is used so the material sticks to the surface area. Then the material itself is put on the tooth and solidified with intense light. The composite resin material is shaped and polished to obtain a glossy finish as a last step.
