Why Do They Call Them Same Day Crowns?

This cutting edge technology allows your dental practitioner to take accurate pictures of your tooth and use those images to design, manufacture, and put a porcelain or zirconia crown in a single appointment. Same day crowns provide exceptional benefits, value, and accuracy to our patients.

How Does The Same Day Crown Technology Work?

The same day crown process consists of three basic steps. 1st, your dentist uses 3D imaging to take extremely precise pictures of your tooth and the surrounding structures. Next, they then download these images into a computer and, using computer-assisted design software, designs your custom-fitted crown. From there, your dental practitioner will send out the design to their in-office accuracy milling machine which creates the crown from a block of dental porcelain or zirconia. Once they stain and glaze the crown for extra strength and esthetics, your dentist will place it on your tooth.

What Are The Benefits Of Same Day Crowns?

We only use dental porcelain and zirconia to produce our same day crowns. These metal-free restorations provide incomparable toughness, sturdiness, chip and stain resistance, and natural appeal.

Precision-fitted same day crowns require less tooth preparation and maintain more of your tooth structure.

Conventional crowns require two office appointments. With same day crowns, you can come into our dentist's office for a visit and leave with a beautifully restored tooth.

You can prevent the inconvenience and potential threats associated with uncomfortable short-term crowns.

Same Day Crown Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take exact digital images of areas needing restoration and produce the proper restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in simply one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to make your crown.

CEREC can be utilized for a wide range of indications: posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays and partial crowns.

Today's Subject Will Be:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental issues.

Spotting issues with x-rays before they become problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the requirement for more extensive, expensive treatments or surgeries. X-rays are mainly utilized to discover:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have a number of advantages over conventional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays allow us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from traditional dental x-rays. The worry of direct exposure to excess radiation is eliminated.

Large on-screen X-rays make patient communication more efficient. The instant observation of the images on the screen allows us to discuss your dental health quickly and accurately.

Digital radiography has greatly improved the practice of dentistry. It enables the client and the doctor to see images of the teeth in greater resolution on a huge format for much easier detection of problems, all while reducing the radiation exposure to the client. The procedure we use further defines the radiograph, resulting in clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available quickly after exposure, removing the wait and effort spent developing and installing x-rays. If an image has to be retaken, it can be done instantly. Digital format also enables us to send out and receive your images digitally for consultation that can be provided to you rapidly.
