Why Get Same Day Crowns?

There are lots of advantages of using same day crown over standard crown technology.

  • Time: Same day crowns are made in one visit, conserving you considerable time away from your job and family.

  • Convenience: With same day crowns, there is no requirement for a short-term crown, eliminating significant potential pain.

  • Aesthetic appeals: The strong, tooth-colored ceramic materials of same day crowns restore your teeth to their natural strength, beauty, and function, and carefully match the composition of your natural tooth structure.

  • Strength: Milled ceramic is stronger than the standard technique of layering and pressing, so your smile will stay stunning for many years!

  • Fillings: Same day crown material and innovation can also be used for fillings. Given that these fillings are constructed of porcelain, they are more durable than white composite fillings.

Same Day Teeth Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital imagery of locations requiring restoration and produce the proper restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in simply one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to fabricate your crown.

CEREC can be used for a broad scope of indications: anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays, partial crowns and posterior crowns.

Today We Will Be Discussing:

Porcelain Veneers (Teeth)

Veneers are a very thin pieces of resilient, tooth shaped, porcelain that are custom made (for shape and color) by a professional dental laboratory. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a stunning and attractive smile.

Veneers can entirely reshape your teeth and smile. They can commonly be alternatives to crowns and the perfect option in treating many cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.

Similar to the majority of dental restorations, veneers may someday require replacement; however, they are still very long lasting and will last multiple years, offering you a long lasting, stunning smile.

How Are Veneers Placed?

Veneers are a dental procedure where a covering is placed over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are usually only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or grinning. The treatment can be direct or indirect.

The direct technique usually involves putting composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This technique is normally referred to as bonding.

The indirect technique generally involves 2 appointments because the veneers will be fabricated at a dental laboratory. At the first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are provided a short-term covering. In two to three weeks the veneers are back from the laboratory, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The laboratory fabricated veneers are generally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are extremely esthetic.

The benefit of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the procedure is usually less uncomfortable. Veneers are not advised for teeth that have big fillings or little tooth structure.

You will get care directions for your veneers. Appropriate brushing, flossing and routine dental visits will aid in the life of your new and beautiful veneers.
