Why Are These Crowns Called Same Day Crowns?

This state-of-the-art technology permits your dental practitioner to take accurate images of your tooth and use those images to design, manufacture, and position a porcelain or zirconia crown in a single visit. Same day crowns offer exceptional convenience, value, and precision to our clients.

How Does The Same Day Crown Technology Work?

The same day crown process consists of 3 fundamental steps. First, your dentist uses 3D imaging to take highly accurate photos of your tooth and the surrounding structures. 2nd, she downloads these images into a computer and, using computer-assisted design software, develops your custom-fitted crown. From there, your dental practitioner will send the design to their in-office precision milling machine which produces the crown out of a block of dental porcelain or zirconia. Once they stain and glaze the crown for extra strength and esthetics, your dental practitioner will position it on your tooth.

Exactly What Are The Advantages Of Same Day Crowns?

We only use dental porcelain and zirconia to create our same day crowns. These metal-free restorations offer unparalleled toughness, resilience, chip and stain resistance, and natural appeal.

Precision-fitted same day crowns require less tooth preparation and protect more of your tooth structure.

Traditional crowns require 2 office appointments. With same day crowns, you can come to our dentist's office for an appointment and leave with a magnificently restored tooth.

You can prevent the inconvenience and possible risks connected with ill-fitting temporary crowns.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital images of areas requiring restoration and produce the suitable restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in just one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. Today's Topic Is:

TMJ (Temporal Mandibular Joint)

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Issues in this joint might be triggered by a misalignment of the teeth, trauma, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are involved in the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can cause:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, often extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can consist of replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling gaps between teeth, etc. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Often a plastic mouth piece is utilized to prevent clenching or grinding that is contributing to the issue. If untreated and taken to extremes, surgery might be needed to fix a terribly damaged joint.
