Why Are These Crowns Called Same Day Crowns?

This state-of-the-art technology enables your dentist to take accurate images of your tooth and use those images to design, manufacture, and position a porcelain or zirconia crown in a single visit. Same day crowns offer exceptional convenience, value, and precision to our patients.

How Does The Same Day Crown Technology Work?

The same day crown procedure includes three basic steps. 1st, your dental practitioner uses 3D imaging to take highly accurate photos of your tooth and the surrounding structures. Next, they then download these images into a computer and, using computer-assisted design software, designs your custom-fitted crown. From there, your dental practitioner will send the design to their in-office accuracy milling device which produces the crown from a block of dental porcelain or zirconia. Once they stain and glaze the crown for additional strength and esthetics, your dental practitioner will put it on your tooth.

What Are The Advantages Of Same Day Crowns?

We just use dental porcelain and zirconia to develop our same day crowns. These metal-free restorations provide incomparable strength, durability, chip and stain resistance, and natural beauty.

Precision-fitted same day crowns require less tooth prep work and maintain more of your tooth structure.

Traditional crowns need two office visits. With same day crowns, you can come to our dentist's office for a visit and leave with a perfectly fixed tooth.

You can prevent the trouble and possible threats connected with uncomfortable short-term crowns.

Today's Subject Will Be:

Fillings

Fillings are done to remove decay, and replace the affected tooth structure. It is called a filling due to the fact that new material fills the hole that the decay left. Now days most teeth are treated with bonded tooth colored composite resin fillings. Caught early enough, cavities can be treated easily and painlessly. If not treated, decay can lead to tooth discomfort and/or infection, and the tooth would need a root canal treatment or extraction.

There are 2 types of fillings; amalgam or silver fillings, and composite or white fillings. Composite fillings are tooth-colored to blend in with the remaining natural part of the tooth. Most dentists provide both kinds of fillings, however find that a number of their clients prefer the composite fillings.

The term composite refers to the actual filling material which is a mix of glass or quartz filler in a resin medium.

Composite fillings offer excellent resilience and resistance to fracture in small-to-mid size restorations that need to stand up to moderate chewing pressure. Less tooth structure is eliminated when the dental practitioner prepares the tooth, and this might result in a smaller filling than with of an amalgam.

In addition, composites are "bonded", or adhesively attached, to the tooth, frequently allowing a more conservative repair for the tooth. Composite fillings require that the tooth be kept clean and dry throughout the whole filling process and they go through stain and discoloration with time. The life expectancy of a white filling can depend greatly on where it is in your mouth and how heavily your teeth come together when you bite.

Composite filling material is also frequently utilized to fix front teeth that have actually broken or worn. Where possible, esthetic bonding of composite material to front teeth is normally much more economical than veneers or crowns. However, bonding typically does not last as long as veneers or crowns.
