Single Visit Dental Crowns - A Smart Innovation

We aim to stay current with the multitude of technological advances that are happening in dentistry. We are proud to have the same day crown innovation in our office. It enables us to produce crowns and bigger restorations in our office. Same day crowns use the most sophisticated dental technology, consisting of 3D video imaging and CAD/CAM innovation. In layman's terms, it is a computer-designed restoration for your tooth. The entire treatment takes in between 1-2 hours and can be completed in one sitting.

Typically, a crown in the past would have required 2 appointments. The very first appointment includes preparing the tooth, taking the mold, and fitting a short-term crown. During the second visit, the short-term crown is replaced with the long-term one. With a same day crown, the whole treatment can be completed in simply one appointment. We will use video imaging innovation to take a photo of the tooth and use CAD/CAM technology to create the crown. This 3D design is wirelessly transferred to a milling device that carves the restoration out of a vacuum formed ceramic block. We will then adhere the new crown to your tooth. This removes the need to get a temporary along with a 2nd appointment.

Restorative dentistry procedures can be essential to the general health of your teeth and mouth. Please call our office and request a visit.

Dental Implants

A dental implant is a metal device created to replace missing teeth. The device is normally constructed of titanium and is surgically put into the jawbone where the teeth are missing. An implant is permanent, unlike a dental bridge.

Crowns and traditional bridges or dentures might not be your only options when replacing missing teeth. For some people, dental implants offer a smile that feels and look very natural. Surgically placed below the gums over a series of visits, implants connect to the jawbone and function as a base for bridges or a denture, individual replacement teeth.

Implants provide stability because they connect to your bone, a process called osseointegration. Integration of these implants into your jaw also helps your replacement teeth feel more natural and some people also discover the secure fit is more comfy than traditional substitutes. Candidates for dental implants should have healthy gums and adequate bone to support the implant.

What's Involved In Having A Dental Implant?

A dental implant might be an option to replace a missing tooth. In this treatment, a small titanium shaft is surgically {placed|implanted into the bone and allowed to set. The bone grows around it forming a tight connection, which in addition slows or stops the bone loss that happens when the root of a natural tooth is missing. Once the implant is firmly set in the mouth, the dental practitioner then works to connect the replacement tooth onto the top of the shaft. This permanent option has the advantages over bridge work that it does not stress the surrounding teeth for support, and, should the tooth wear out, another can simply be replaced on the shaft.

Implants can also be used as support as part of an implant bridge. This is an option to partial dentures, and has a number of advantages. First, there is no adjustment period to acclimatize the client who, when the work is done, only feels teeth, not metal supports intruding into the mouth. Second, this slows the bone loss occasioned by missing teeth. Third, there is no pain or trouble in eating. And, best of all, of course, they do not need to be taken out all the time.
