Temporary crowns and second visits for crowns are now typically unnecessary thanks to the same day crown technology. We offer this exciting one-visit crown technology in our office, adding higher convenience to the procedure of getting a crown. The waiting time in between your procedure and when you get your permanent crown is eliminated.

The same day crown technology is an instrument that enables ceramic restorations (veneers, inlays, onlays, and crowns) to be carried out in one check-up instead of two. The computer coordinates with a digital camera allowing the dental practitioner to make digital impressions without the discomfort of bulky impression material.

After taking the picture the computer takes control and mills your custom-made crown right away so that we can cement your new crown that same day. The outcomes we see are fantastic. With the same day crowns, the strength, aesthetics, and fit of the ceramic restorations are outstanding.

Same Day Crown Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take exact digital images of areas requiring restoration and produce the proper restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in just one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to make your crown.

CEREC can be utilized for a wide scope of indications: posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays and partial crowns.

Today We Will Be Talking About:

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the number one aesthetic concern of the majority of patients, there are multiple methods to lighten teeth. The most popular method is using a home tooth whitening system that will bleach teeth significantly. Since tooth bleaching just works on natural tooth enamel, it is necessary to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, and so on. Replacement of any restorations will be done after whitening so they will match the freshly bleached teeth.

Most dentists use multiple techniques: customizeded tray bleaching, professional strength white strips, and in-office bleaching.

The tray method involves having impressions taken, which the laboratory makes into custom vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is put in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The entire procedure takes about a week of daily use. Three different strengths of gel might be used, however, the greater the strength, the higher the likelihood of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray method is advised for terribly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it might take numerous months of use to see significant color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a very fast and convenient lightening procedure. The appointment is around one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our clients love this treatment because it is so simple and fast!

Tooth bleaching is not permanent. A touch-up might be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For maintenance of whitened teeth the trays need to be utilized every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of outer tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation during tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.).
