Why Choose Same Day Crowns?

There are many advantages of single day crowns over traditional crown technology.

  • Time: Same day crowns are made in one appointment, saving you considerable time away from your job and family.

  • Convenience: With same day crowns, there is no need for a short-term crown, which eliminates significant potential pain and inconvenience of a lost temporary restoration. Only one visit means only one injection, or no injections if the tooth was previously treated with a root canal. No traditional impressions means no gagging.

  • Aesthetic appeals: The strong, tooth-colored ceramic materials of this brand-new innovation restores your teeth to their natural strength, charm, and function and closely match the composition of natural tooth structure.

  • Durability: Milled ceramic is stronger than the traditional method of layering and pressing, so your smile will remain gorgeous for many years!

  • Fillings: Same day crown material and technology can also be used for fillings. Because they are made out of porcelain, they are more resilient than white composite fillings. They are much more aesthetic than mercury containing silver fillings and tougher because of bonding innovation.

If you have anymore concerns about same day crowns or porcelain crowns, please don't hesitate to contact our office today. We will address any questions you have and you can make an appointment to talk with our dental practitioner in person.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital images of locations requiring restoration and produce the proper restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in just one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to make your crown.

Today's Subject Will Be:

Temporal-Mandibular Joint

TMJ means temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint might be triggered by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and 5 muscles are associated with the area. If something goes wrong a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, in some cases extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling spaces in between teeth, and so on. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Sometimes a plastic mouth piece is utilized to prevent clenching or grinding that is contributing to the problem. If unattended and required to extremes, surgery may be needed to fix a severely damaged joint.
