If you have a fractured or broken tooth, are experiencing pain when chewing or exposed to hot or cold temperature levels, or wish to eliminate unsightly metal crowns or fillings, then dental crowns might be a great choice for you. Dental Crowns cover the outter surface area of the affected tooth, adding sturdiness and stability to it.

Same-day dental crowns are a choice that we offer on a case by case basis to clients who would gain from the treatment. They allow clients to come to our office and leave within a couple hours with their permanent dental crown in place that same day. This removes the need to have a temporary crown placed then another appointment scheduled for the placement of the final crown.

Our Same-Day Crowns are made with our brand-new technology that scans the mouth to get the appropriate measurements of your tooth and surrounding teeth, then makes your crown right there in the office. These restorations are really strong and resilient and made out of the highest quality porcelain available. Sometimes, a gold crown might be advised for your posterior teeth (back teeth) if you grind or clinch your teeth a lot.

Gold crowns are different from porcelain crowns, and the cost may vary between the two and you may wish to discuss your budget as well with the your dentist. Your dental practitioner will discuss with you the kinds of crowns available and give you a recommendation based upon your certain circumstance.

Call us to schedule a complimentary cosmetic consultation. We look forward to talking to you.

The Topic For Today Is:

Root Canal

Root canal treatment (also referred to as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is essential when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and find problems early). Often deep restorations or trauma to a tooth might also cause the nerve to be harmed to the point it needs root canal therapy. Once this happens, the pulp becomes infected, and can even extend through the root tip and start to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it needs to be treated, and can not recover on its own. It can even weaken the whole immune system. This is dangerous, and might be extremely painful. Signs that the pulp has actually ended up being infected might include sensitivity to hot/cold or sweets, discomfort, swelling, discomfort to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. Often, however, no symptoms are apparent and the person is unaware of any issue till a checkup.

A root canal is then carried out to clean out the infected tooth pulp, and disinfect the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to remove the tooth. When the infection is dealt with, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any further infection. Typically a core build-up and crown is recommended for restoring a tooth that has had root canal therapy.
