What Are Same Day Crowns?

Same day crowns are a brand-new technology that a dental expert can economically bring back damaged teeth in a single consultation using a high-quality ceramic material that matches the natural color of other teeth.

How Does It Work?

Same day crowns use a CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) innovation, incorporating a camera, computer and a milling device in one instrument. The dentist uses a special camera to take an precise image of the broken tooth. This optical impression is transferred and shown on a color computer screen, where the dentist uses CAD innovation to develop the restoration. Then CAM takes over and instantly develops the restoration while the client waits. Finally, the dentist bonds the new restoration to the surface of the old tooth. The entire process takes about one hour.

Exactly What Does This Technology Mean For A Client?

A tooth-colored restoration means no more silver fillings discoloring smiles. The filling is natural-looking, suitable with tissue in the mouth, anti-abrasive and plaque-resistant. Dental practitioners no longer need to produce temporaries or take impressions and send them to a laboratory. Because of this, the standard 2nd appointment has actually been removed. This brand-new innovation has over a decade of clinical research and documentation to support it. The restorations have actually been proven precise, safe and efficient.

Dental Bonding (Composite)

Bonding is a procedure in which we use a tooth-colored composite product to a tooth, shape it, allow it to harden, and polish it. It can be used in specific situations where a tooth has been broken or ended up being stained. These are usually small repairs, ones that can be resolved through this reasonably affordable ways instead of through a more costly dental treatment.

How It Works:
Bonding includes adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to repair damage done to the tooth by decay, to change the positioning of the tooth, close gaps between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface of the tooth is roughed up in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface, and a primer/bond agent is applied so the material adheres to the surface area. Then the material itself is positioned on the tooth and solidified with intense light. The composite resin material is shaped and polished to get a lustrous finish as a last step.
