Exactly What Are The Advantages Of Same Day Crowns?

There are numerous advantages to having treatment with same day crowns over conventional, laboratory-made restorations.

  • Everything is carried out in a single appointment, you just need to visit the dental practitioner one time, take one day away from your life to have the treatment, instead of the usual 2 or three visits.

Today's Conversation Will Be About:

Teeth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the top aesthetic concern of many clients, there are numerous ways to lighten teeth. The most popular method is using a home tooth lightening system that will bleach teeth dramatically. Since tooth bleaching only works on natural tooth enamel, it is important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after bleaching so they will match the newly bleached teeth.

Most dentists utilize numerous approaches: customizeded tray whitening, professional strength white strips, and in-office lightening.

The tray approach involves having impressions taken, which the laboratory produces into customized vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole procedure takes about a week of everyday use. Three different strengths of gel may be utilized, however, the higher the strength, the greater the likelihood of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray technique is advised for terribly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take multiple months of use to see significant color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a really quick and convenient bleaching process. The appointment is roughly one hour consisting of both the preparation and treatment. Our patients like this treatment because it is so simple and quick!

Tooth whitening is not permanent. A touch-up may be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays should be used every couple of months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation during tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.).
