A Few Advantages Of Getting A Same Day Crown

Crowns are a very common dental procedure that is typically required when someone's tooth is broken or if the tooth has actually broken down to the point where a filling will not be effective.

Typical crowns are fairly bothersome to get, however there is an alternative. Same-day crowns are a great choice since they are more convenient and lead to less pain:

Less Pain

A conventional crown can result in pain for a few reasons, but one of the biggest sources of discomfort and pain is a result of needing to use a short-term crown.

A short-term crown is used as a placeholder to safeguard your exposed tooth up until your permanent crown can be provided to your dental practitioner. This can take anywhere from a couple of days to a few weeks.

The problem with a short-term crown is that they are not very strong, which indicates that they can break or come loose really easily.

A busted or loose temporary crown will expose your tooth to liquids and food, both of which can trigger a fair bit of discomfort if they reach the exposed nerves beneath the temporary crown.

Another source of discomfort originates from a loose crown rubbing along your gums. This rubbing can reach the point where it can get fairly uncomfortable and start to bleed, which also opens up the course for possible infections.

Luckily, a same-day crown will provide you with a long-term crown at the end of your first appointment to the dental practitioner.

This eliminates the requirement for a short-term crown, hence enabling you to prevent all the discomfort and pain.

Makes Sense

A conventional crown is not a very convenient treatment to have carried out, mainly since it typically takes a minimum of two visits to complete.

If your temporary crown is broken or falls off, which is common, you will have to make another visit to have it changed. This can be a big issue if you have a busy schedule on your hands, or if you have a job that discourages taking some time off in the middle of a hectic work day.

However, a same-day crown can be completed in a single day, with a single appointment. This is enabled because lots of dental practitioners will buy the equipment to make their own crowns, rather than having to purchase crowns from a dental lab.

This lets you avoid the trouble of having to potentially invest weeks and several visits to your dental practitioner before the treatment is over and finished with.

Speak with your dental practitioner and inquire about the benefits provided by a same-day crown. A same-day crown can supply you with a practical and fairly pain-free option to a conventional crown.

Today's Discussion Will Be About:

Ultra-Sonic Tooth Cleaning

We use ultrasonic scalers for most adult dental cleanings. These devices use ultrasonic vibrations to help breakdown the plaque and calculus on the teeth that cause gingivitis and gum disease. The ultrasonic cleaners develop microscopic bubbles that implode on the surface of the tooth, eliminating microorganisms and eliminating plaque and tartar in the process. Our instruments use a thin tip to better navigate in the periodontal pockets to help keep optimal gingival health.

  • The procedure only uses water, no chemicals are used.

  • It can get rid of tartar buildup in hard-to-reach locations, without any damage to the tooth enamel.

  • Manual scaling typically uses pressure for cleaning, while the vibration produced by the scaling tip of an ultrasonic scaler is hardly noticeable. This makes ultrasonic cleaning appropriate to those with delicate teeth.

  • The cleaning procedure is much faster than manual scaling making your visit more comfy.

After your teeth have actually been cleaned with the ultrasonic cleaner, your teeth will be hand scaled to look for any residual deposits and then polished.
