At our dental practice we do same day crowns. You may be asking, exactly what are same day crowns and what can it provide for me?

It is a 3D system that lets us make porcelain crowns and inlays all in one visit. We have now been using this innovation for multiple years and like it more than ever.

Same day crowns are an in-surgery computer system that allows us to fix broken or missing tooth structures with a ceramic product that's as close to a natural tooth as is possible.

This is done while you are in the practice, in simply one appointment. All ceramic porcelain inlays and onlays, veneers and crowns that feel and look like natural teeth can be made and placed in a single visit, typically in about an hour.

So what is the treatment?

We scan the opposite teeth and the way the teeth bite together first. We eliminate the old filling, and decay and any thin weak tooth material and scan the readied tooth.

After this we stop working in the mouth and begin working with the computer.

Everybody enjoys seeing the pictures of their teeth and the creating of their brand-new tooth. We make 3D design and this information is sent to the milling device.

Everyone asks if this is like 3D printing and yes it is, but the tooth isn't developed layer by layer, it is cut from a block in the machine, which is much stronger.

The block is then precisely carved to produce your new restoration, which is wonderful.

Finally, the customized crown restoration bonded perfectly into the tooth, enhancing and sealing it at the same time then we clean up!

We need to make sure that you can bite correctly, that its smooth and that you can floss.

The Conversation Of The Day Will Be:

Teeth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the top aesthetic concern of most patients, there are a number of methods to whiten teeth. The most popular method is utilizing a home tooth whitening system that will bleach teeth considerably. Because tooth whitening only works on natural tooth enamel, it is very important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after bleaching so they will match the recently bleached teeth.

Most dentists utilize a number of approaches: customizeded tray whitening, professional strength white strips, and in-office lightening.

The tray method involves having impressions taken, which the laboratory produces into custom-made vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is put in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole process takes about a week of daily use. Three various strengths of gel may be utilized, however, the greater the strength, the higher the likelihood of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray approach is advised for badly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it might take a number of months of use to see substantial color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a very quick and convenient bleaching process. The visit is approximately one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our clients like this treatment due to the fact that it is so easy and quick!

Tooth bleaching is not permanent. A touch-up might be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays ought to be used every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of outer tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.).
