At our dental practice we do same day crowns. You may ask, exactly what are same day crowns and what can it do for me?

It is a 3D system that lets us make porcelain crowns and inlays all in one visit. We have now been using this innovation for many years and like it more than ever.

Same day crowns are an in-surgery computer system that allows us to fix damaged or missing tooth structures with a ceramic material that's as close to a natural tooth as is possible.

This is done while you remain in the practice, in just one visit. All ceramic porcelain inlays and onlays, veneers and crowns that look like natural teeth can be made and fitted in a single visit, generally in about an hour.

So exactly what is the procedure?

We scan the opposite teeth and the way the teeth bite together first. We remove the old filling, and degeneration and any thin weak tooth material and scan the readied tooth.

After this we quit working in the mouth and begin working with the computer.

Everybody likes seeing the pictures of their teeth and the developing of their brand-new tooth. We make 3D design and this information is sent out to the milling unit.

Everybody asks if this is like 3D printing and yes it is, but the tooth is not built up layer by layer, it is cut back from a block in the device, which is much more durable.

The block is then precisely sculpted to produce your new restoration, which is fantastic.

Finally, the customized crown restoration bonded flawlessly into the tooth, strengthening and sealing it at the same time and then we clean up!

We have to ensure that you can bite properly, that its smooth and that you can floss.

Today's Subject Will Be:

Porcelain Veneers (Tooth)

Veneers are a really thin pieces of long lasting, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental laboratory. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a beautiful and appealing smile.

Veneers can entirely reshape your teeth and smile. They can often be alternatives to crowns and the ideal solution in treating lots of cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.

Just like a lot of dental restorations, veneers might at some point need replacement; however, they are still very resilient and will last multiple years, offering you a long lasting, gorgeous smile.

How Are Veneers Applied?

Veneers are a dental procedure in which a covering is put over the outside (visible area) of the tooth. Veneers are generally only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or smiling. The procedure can be direct or indirect.

The direct strategy generally involves putting composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This approach is typically referred to as bonding.

The indirect method generally involves 2 visits because the veneers will be made at a dental lab. At the very first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are provided a short-term covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the laboratory, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The lab made veneers are normally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are extremely esthetic.

The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the procedure is normally less uncomfortable. Veneers are not recommended for teeth that have big fillings or little tooth structure.

You will receive care guidelines for your veneers. Appropriate brushing, flossing and routine dental visits will help in the life of your new and lovely veneers.
