What Are Same Day Dental Crowns?

Same day crowns are a new innovation that a dental professional can financially bring back broken teeth in a single consultation using a high-quality ceramic product that matches the natural color of other teeth.

How Does It Work?

Same day crowns use a CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) technology, incorporating a camera, computer and a milling device in one instrument. The dental practitioner uses a unique camera to take an accurate photo of the damaged tooth. This optical impression is downloaded and displayed on a color computer screen, where the dentist uses CAD innovation to design the restoration. Then CAM takes over and automatically develops the restoration while the patient waits. Finally, the dental practitioner bonds the new restoration to the surface of the old tooth. The entire procedure takes about one hour.

What Does This Technology Mean For A Patient?

A tooth-colored restoration means no more silver fillings discoloring smiles. The filling is natural-looking, compatible with tissue in the mouth, anti-abrasive and plaque-resistant. Dentists no longer have to produce temporaries or take impressions and send them to a laboratory. Because of this, the traditional second visit has been removed. This new technology has more than 10 years of scientific research and documentation to support it. The restorations have actually been proven accurate, safe and efficient.

A gorgeous smile is among your biggest assets - a reflection of happiness and good health.

Today Were Discussing:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental issues.

Spotting problems with x-rays before they become problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the requirement for more extensive, pricey treatments or surgeries. X-rays are mostly utilized to discover:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have multiple advantages over conventional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays enable us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from conventional dental x-rays. The worry of exposure to excess radiation is removed.

Huge on-screen X-rays make patient communication more effective. The instant observation of the images on the screen enables us to discuss your dental health quickly and properly.

Digital radiography has significantly improved the practice of dentistry. It allows the patient and the doctor to see images of the teeth in higher resolution on a huge format for much easier detection of problems, all while decreasing the radiation direct exposure to the patient. The process we use further defines the radiograph, resulting in clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available quickly after exposure, removing the wait and effort spent establishing and mounting x-rays. If an image has to be retaken, it can be done instantly. Digital format also allows us to send out and receive your images digitally for consultation that can be provided to you quickly.
