A Few Advantages Of Getting A Same Day Crown

Crowns are a very common dental treatment that is frequently required when somebody's tooth is broken or if the tooth has actually broken down to the point where a filling will not be effective.

Normal crowns are fairly troublesome to obtain, but there is an alternative. Same-day crowns are a fantastic option because they are easier and result in less discomfort:

A Lot Less Painful

A traditional crown can lead to discomfort for a couple of factors, however among the greatest sources of discomfort and pain is an outcome of needing to have a short-term crown.

A temporary crown is used as a placeholder to safeguard your exposed tooth till your long-term crown can be delivered to your dental practitioner. This can take anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks.

The issue with a short-term crown is that they are not really strong, which means that they can break or come loose extremely quickly.

A broken or loose short-term crown will expose your tooth to liquids and food, both which can trigger a fair bit of pain if they reach the exposed nerves beneath the temporary crown.

Another source of pain originates from a loose crown rubbing along your gums. This rubbing can reach the point where it can get rather unpleasant and start to bleed, which also opens up the course for possible infections.

Fortunately, a same-day crown will provide you with a permanent crown at the end of your very first visit to the dental practitioner.

This gets rid of the requirement for a temporary crown, thus allowing you to avoid all of the discomfort and pain.

More Convenient

A traditional crown is not a very hassle-free treatment to have carried out, primarily since it typically takes at least 2 visits to complete.

If your short-term crown is broken or falls off, which is common, you will have to make another appointment to have it replaced. This can be a huge problem if you have a hectic schedule on your hands, or if you have a job that discourages taking time off in the middle of a busy work day.

However, a same-day crown can be completed in a single day, with a single visit. This is made possible because lots of dental practitioners will purchase the equipment to make their own crowns, instead of having to order crowns from a dental lab.

This lets you prevent the trouble of having to possibly invest weeks and numerous appointments to your dental practitioner before the procedure is over and done with.

Speak to your dentist and ask about the advantages provided by a same-day crown. A same-day crown can provide you with a practical and reasonably pain-free alternative to a conventional crown.

Today's Conversation Will Be About:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental problems.

Discovering problems with x-rays before they end up being problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the requirement for more extensive, expensive treatments or surgeries. X-rays are mainly utilized to spot:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have multiple advantages over conventional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays allow us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from conventional dental x-rays. The worry of exposure to excess radiation is removed.

Huge on-screen X-rays make client communication more efficient. The instant observation of the images on the screen allows us to discuss your dental health quickly and accurately.

Digital radiography has greatly improved the practice of dentistry. It enables the patient and the medical professional to see pictures of the teeth in greater resolution on a large format for much easier detection of issues, all while reducing the radiation exposure to the patient. The procedure we use further defines the radiograph, resulting in clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available immediately after exposure, eliminating the wait and effort spent developing and mounting x-rays. If an image needs to be retaken, it can be done right away. Digital format also enables us to send out and get your images digitally for consultation that can be presented to you rapidly.
