Temporary crowns and 2nd visits for crowns are now generally unnecessary thanks to the same day crown technology. We provide this exciting one-visit crown technology in our office, adding higher convenience to the process of getting a crown. The waiting time between your procedure and when you get your long-term crown is eliminated.

The same day crown technology is an instrument that enables ceramic restorations (crowns, veneers, inlays, and onlays) to be carried out in one check-up instead of 2. The computer coordinates with a wireless digital camera enabling the dental practitioner to make digital impressions without the discomfort of bulky impression material.

After taking the picture the computer takes over and mills your customized crown right away so that we can cement your new crown that same day. The results we see are amazing. With the same day crowns, the strength, aesthetics, and fit of the ceramic restorations are outstanding.

Same Day Teeth Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital images of areas requiring restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in simply one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to make your crown.

CEREC can be used for a broad scope of indications: veneers, inlays, onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns and anterior crowns.

Today's Conversation Has To Do With:

TMJ (Temporal Mandibular Joint)

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint may be triggered by a misalignment of the teeth, trauma, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are involved in the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can cause:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble or soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, in some cases extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can consist of replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling spaces between teeth, etc. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Often a plastic mouthpiece is utilized to prevent clenching or grinding that is contributing to the issue. If unattended and taken to extremes, surgery may be required to repair a severely damaged joint.
