Why Choose Same Day Crowns?

There are many benefits of one day crowns over standard crown technology.

  • Time: Same day crowns are made in one visit, conserving you significant time away from your job and family.

  • Convenience: With same day crowns, there is no requirement for a short-term crown, which removes significant potential pain and inconvenience of a lost temporary restoration. Only one appointment means only one injection, or no injections if the tooth was formerly treated with a root canal. No traditional impressions resulting in no gagging.

  • Aesthetic appeals: The strong, tooth-colored ceramic materials of this new innovation restores your teeth to their natural strength, appeal, and function and closely match the composition of natural tooth structure.

  • Durability: Milled ceramic is tougher than the standard technique of layering and pressing, so your smile will stay stunning for years!

  • Fillings: Same day crown material and technology can also be used for fillings. Since they are constructed of porcelain, they are more durable than white composite fillings. They are much more aesthetic than mercury including silver fillings and stronger because of bonding innovation.

If you have anymore concerns about same day crowns or porcelain crowns, please don't hesitate to call our office today. We will address any concerns you have and you can make an appointment to speak to our dentist personally.

The Conversation For Today Will Be:

Temporal Mandibular Joint

TMJ means temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint may be brought on by a misalignment of the teeth, trauma, or excess muscle stress. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are associated with the area. If something goes wrong a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, often extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can consist of replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling gaps between teeth, and so on. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. In some cases a plastic mouth piece is utilized to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the issue. If unattended and required to extremes, surgery might be required to repair a severely damaged joint.
