Same Day Crowns

Same day crown technology plays an essential role in our practice. This remarkable innovation in chair side dentistry gives us the tools to design, produce, and set crowns, inlays and onlays in a single visit.

The Same Day Crown Difference

The traditional technique to a crown or inlay and onlay typically needed a return visit after the patient waited (with a short-term restoration in the tooth) for about 2 weeks while the restoration was produced in a different laboratory. Same day crown CAD/CAM technology removes the wait!

How Do Same Day Crowns Work?

Same day crowns employ a unique camera to take an precise photo of the broken tooth. This optical impression is moved and shown on a color computer screen, where the dentist utilizes CAD (computer-aided design) software to design the restoration.

Then CAM (computer-aided manufacturing) takes control of and automatically mills the restoration while the client waits. At last, the new restoration is bonded in place.

The whole procedure takes about one hour, and there are no frustrating temporaries or 2nd appointment required!

Proven Technology

With twenty years of medical research study and more than 20 million restorations performed worldwide, same day crowns have proven to be a an reliable, safe and hassle-free technology that we are delighted to offer to our clients.

Same Day Crowns Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital images of areas needing restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in just one visit. We will develop and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to produce your crown.

Today's Subject Will Be:

Temporal Mandibular Joint

TMJ means temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Issues in this joint may be brought on by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are involved in the area. If something goes wrong a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can cause:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble or soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, often extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling spaces between teeth, etc. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Sometimes a plastic mouth piece is used to prevent clenching or grinding that is contributing to the issue. If untreated and taken to extremes, surgery might be needed to repair a badly damaged joint.
