Why Get Single Visit Crowns?

There are numerous benefits of using same day crown over standard crown technology.

  • Time: Same day crowns are made in one visit, saving you considerable time away from your job and family.

  • Comfort: With same day crowns, there is no need for a short-term crown, eliminating substantial possible pain.

  • Looks: The strong, tooth-colored ceramic products of same day crowns restore your teeth to their natural strength, appeal, and function, and closely match the composition of your natural tooth structure.

  • Strength: Milled ceramic is tougher than the standard method of layering and pressing, so your smile will remain lovely for multiple years!

  • Fillings: Same day crown product and innovation can also be used for fillings. Since these fillings are constructed of porcelain, they are longer lasting than white composite fillings.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take exact digital images of locations needing restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in just one visit. We will develop and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to fabricate your crown.

CEREC can be used for a broad scope of indications: anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays, partial crowns and posterior crowns.

The Discussion For Today Will Be:

Endodontic Treatment (Root Canal)

Root canal treatment (also described as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is needed when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and identify issues early). In some cases deep restorations or trauma to a tooth may also cause the nerve to be damaged to the point it needs root canal treatment. As soon as this takes place, the pulp becomes infected, and can even extend through the root tip and start to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it should be treated, and can not recover by itself. It can even deteriorate the entire immune system. This is dangerous, and might be extremely agonizing. Signs that the pulp has actually ended up being infected might include sensitivity to hot/cold or sugary foods, pain, swelling, pain to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. In some cases, however, no signs appear and the person is unaware of any issue up until a checkup.

A root canal is then performed to clean out the infected tooth pulp, and sanitize the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to remove the tooth. Once the infection is fixed, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any more infection. Generally a core build-up and crown is recommended for restoring a tooth that has actually had root canal therapy.
