One Day Crowns And Teeth Restorations

Do you have to get a dental crown? Or will you soon be needing a dental treatment that will cause you to need a dental crown? If so, you may be starting to dread the time you will have to invest at the dental practitioner's office. At our dental practice, we offer a fantastic time-saving option for you. We offer same day crowns at our practice!

At our practice we are proud to have professional and highly-trained dental practitioners on staff. At our dental practice we integrate cutting edge technology and treatments to supply our clients with the best restorative, preventive, implant, and cosmetic dentistry care. For patients who need to get dental crowns, we are extremely happy to be able to offer same day crowns.

Crowns and caps are 2 different names for the same thing. A dental crown is a restoration that is typically made from porcelain. It is a strong structure that is used to cover a tooth on all 4 sides to help strengthen the tooth and improve its function.

Crowns can also be used to connect bridges, as the top part of a dental implant, or to prevent a broken tooth from becoming weaker. Crowns can also be used to enhance a tooth after a root canal treatment.

Crowns are also used for purely visual reasons, such as to cover a severely discolored tooth that needs to be brought back to its initial, attractive appearance.

Usually getting a dental crown is a lengthy treatment. The dental practitioner will need to take impressions, offer you with a temporary crown, wait for the crown to be returned from a lab, and then have you return to the office so that it can be permanently attached. Today at our practice patients can get same day crowns in about 2 hours.

Our same day crowns are created in our office thanks to our CAD-CAM innovation.

CAD-CAM means "computer-aided-design-computer-aided-manufacture." Computers are used to take images which are then computer-analyzed and used to develop a crown.

This crown is really milled by a computer in our office. The crown will fit your mouth exactly and remove any need to send out impressions or images to an outside laboratory.

All this is done while you wait, eliminating the need to return for a second appointment.

You also will not have to get a temporary crown, given that our permanent crown will be instantly available to you.

If you want to meet our dental practitioner to find out more about same day crowns or to obtain a same day crown, contact our practice.

The Conversation For Today Will Be:

Fillings

Fillings are done to remove decay, and replace the afflicted tooth structure. It is called a filling due to the fact that new material fills the hole that the decay left. Now days most teeth are treated with bonded tooth colored composite resin fillings. Caught early enough, cavities can be treated easily and painlessly. If not treated, decay can lead to tooth discomfort and/or infection, and the tooth would need a root canal treatment or extraction.

There are 2 kinds of fillings; amalgam or silver fillings, and composite or white fillings. Composite fillings are tooth-colored to blend in with the remaining natural part of the tooth. Most dentists supply both types of fillings, but find that a number of their clients like the composite fillings.

The term composite refers to the actual filling material which is a mix of glass or quartz filler in a resin medium.

Composite fillings supply excellent toughness and resistance to fracture in small-to-mid size restorations that have to stand up to moderate chewing pressure. Less tooth structure is removed when the dentist prepares the tooth, and this might result in a smaller sized filling than with of an amalgam.

In addition, composites are "bonded", or adhesively attached, to the tooth, typically allowing a more conservative repair for the tooth. Composite fillings require that the tooth be kept clean and dry throughout the whole filling process and they undergo stain and staining over time. The life expectancy of a white filling can depend considerably on where it is in your mouth and how heavily your teeth come together when you bite.

Composite filling material is also typically used to fix front teeth that have actually cracked or worn. Where possible, esthetic bonding of composite material to front teeth is normally much less expensive than veneers or crowns. However, bonding usually does not last as long as veneers or crowns.
