If You Require A Crown This Is Probably The Best Route To Go

Getting a crown has long been known to be a two-visit dental experience. Many individuals have no idea that this is not the case with same day crowns. For our lucky clients, getting a crown just takes one appointment!

The Old Fashioned 2 Visit Way

At the very first visit, impressions are taken of the tooth and the impression is sent out to a lab so that your permanent crown can be made. Many people dislike the goopy impression materials that can make them gag which takes up to five minutes in their mouth to set.

Then your tooth is shaved down so that your crown can be put on top of it. Then you receive a temporary crown cemented over the shaved tooth to hold you over until your permanent crown arrives from the laboratory. Then later, you have to go back to the dentist, have the short-term crown removed and the new crown positioned on your tooth

Same Day Crowns Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital imagery of areas requiring restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in just one visit. We will develop and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to fabricate your crown.

CEREC can be utilized for a full scope of indications: partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, and onlays.

The Discussion Of The Day Is:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental issues.

Identifying issues with x-rays before they become problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the need for more extensive, costly treatments or surgeries. X-rays are mainly utilized to identify:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have multiple advantages over traditional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays allow us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from conventional dental x-rays. The concern of direct exposure to excess radiation is removed.

Large on-screen X-rays make patient communication more efficient. The instant observation of the images on the screen enables us to discuss your dental health quickly and properly.

Digital radiography has significantly improved the practice of dentistry. It enables the client and the doctor to see pictures of the teeth in higher resolution on a big format for easier detection of problems, all while decreasing the radiation direct exposure to the client. The process we use further defines the radiograph, resulting in clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available immediately after exposure, getting rid of the wait and effort spent developing and installing x-rays. If an image has to be retaken, it can be done instantly. Digital format also enables us to send out and receive your images electronically for consultation that can be presented to you rapidly.
