Single Visit Crowns With Advanced Technology

We aim to stay current with the multitude of technological advances that are happening in dentistry. We are proud to have the same day crown technology in our office. It permits us to develop crowns and bigger restorations in our office. Same day crowns use the most advanced dental technology, consisting of 3D video imaging and CAD/CAM technology. In layman's terms, it is a computer-designed restoration for your tooth. The whole treatment takes in between 1-2 hours and can be finished in one sitting.

Normally, a crown in the past would have needed two appointments. The very first visit includes preparing the tooth, taking the mold, and fitting a short-term crown. During the 2nd appointment, the temporary crown is replaced with the long-term one. With a same day crown, the whole treatment can be finished in simply one visit. We will use video imaging innovation to take a photo of the tooth and use CAD/CAM technology to design the crown. This 3D design is wirelessly transmitted to a milling machine that sculpts the restoration from a vacuum formed ceramic block. We will then adhere the new crown to your tooth. This eliminates the need to wear a short-term along with a second visit.

Corrective dentistry procedures can be crucial to the overall health of your teeth and mouth. Please call our office and request a consultation.

Same Day Crown Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital images of locations needing restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in just one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to produce your crown.

CEREC can be used for a full scope of indications: partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, and onlays.

Teeth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the top aesthetic concern of most patients, there are multiple ways to lighten teeth. The most popular method is using a home tooth whitening system that will whiten teeth considerably. Because tooth whitening just works on natural tooth enamel, it is very important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after whitening so they will match the freshly bleached teeth.

Most dentists use numerous techniques: custom made tray whitening, professional strength white strips, and in-office whitening.

The tray technique involves having impressions taken, which the laboratory produces into custom vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is put in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The entire procedure takes about a week of everyday use. 3 different strengths of gel might be utilized, however, the greater the strength, the greater the possibility of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray approach is recommended for severely stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take multiple months of use to see substantial color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a extremely fast and practical whitening procedure. The appointment is around one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our patients enjoy this treatment because it is so simple and fast!

Tooth whitening is not permanent. A touch-up may be needed once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For maintenance of whitened teeth the trays must be used every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of outer tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation during tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.).
