If you have a fractured or damaged tooth, are experiencing discomfort when chewing or exposed to hot or cold temperature levels, or want to eliminate unattractive metal crowns or fillings, then dental crowns might be a good option for you. Dental Crowns cover the outter surface of the affected tooth, adding resilience and stability to it.

Same-day dental crowns are an option that we offer on a case by case basis to patients who would benefit from the procedure. They enable clients to come to our office and leave within a couple hours with their final dental crown in place that same day. This gets rid of the need to have a temporary crown placed then another visit scheduled for the placement of the permanent crown.

Our Same-Day Crowns are made with our brand-new technology that scans the mouth to obtain the proper measurements of your tooth and surrounding teeth, then makes your crown right there in the office. These restorations are really strong and resilient and made out of the highest quality porcelain available. In many cases, a gold crown might be suggested for your posterior teeth (back teeth) if you grind or clinch your teeth a lot.

Gold crowns are different from porcelain crowns, and the cost may vary between the two and you may want to talk about your budget plan too with the your dental practitioner. Your dentist will discuss with you the kinds of crowns available and give you a recommendation based upon your particular circumstance.

Call us to schedule a complimentary cosmetic consultation. We look forward to meeting you.

Today Were Going Over:

Root Canal (Endodontic Treatment)

Root canal treatment (also described as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is needed when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and find problems early). In some cases deep restorations or trauma to a tooth might also trigger the nerve to be damaged to the point it needs root canal therapy. Once this occurs, the pulp ends up being infected, and can even extend through the root tip and begin to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it must be treated, and can not recover on its own. It can even damage the entire immune system. This is dangerous, and may be very painful. Symptoms that the pulp has become infected might include sensitivity to hot/cold or sugary foods, discomfort, swelling, pain to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. Sometimes, however, no signs are apparent and the individual is unaware of any issue till a checkup.

A root canal is then carried out to clean out the infected tooth pulp, and disinfect the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to extract the tooth. Once the infection is dealt with, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any further infection. Normally a core build-up and crown is suggested for recovering a tooth that has had root canal therapy.
