Why Are These Crowns Called Same Day Crowns?

This cutting edge technology enables your dentist to take precise images of your tooth and use those images to design, manufacture, and place a porcelain or zirconia crown in a single visit. Same day crowns offer unparalleled convenience, value, and precision to our patients.

How Does The Same Day Crown Technology Work?

The same day crown process includes 3 fundamental steps. First, your dental practitioner uses 3D imaging to take extremely precise photos of your tooth and the surrounding structures. Next, he downloads these images into a computer and, using computer-assisted design software, creates your custom-fitted crown. From there, your dentist will send out the design to their in-office precision milling machine which creates the crown from a block of dental porcelain or zirconia. Once they stain and glaze the crown for additional strength and esthetics, your dental practitioner will place it on your tooth.

Exactly What Are The Advantages Of Same Day Crowns?

We just use dental porcelain and zirconia to develop our same day crowns. These metal-free restorations offer incomparable toughness, sturdiness, chip and stain resistance, and natural appeal.

Precision-fitted same day crowns need less tooth prep work and protect more of your tooth structure.

Standard crowns require 2 office visits. With same day crowns, you can come into our dentist's office for a visit and leave with a beautifully restored tooth.

You can avoid the trouble and possible risks associated with uncomfortable temporary crowns.

Same Day Crowns Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital imagery of areas requiring restoration and produce the suitable restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in just one visit. We will develop and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to fabricate your crown.

CEREC can be used in a full range of indications: onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers and inlays.

The Topic Of The Day Is:

TMJ (Temporal-Mandibular Joint)

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Issues in this joint may be caused by a misalignment of the teeth, trauma, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are associated with the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, sometimes extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling gaps in between teeth, and so on. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Often a plastic mouth piece is utilized to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the problem. If unattended and taken to extremes, surgery may be required to fix a severely damaged joint.
