Porcelain Veneers (Teeth)
Veneers are a really thin pieces of resilient, tooth shaped, porcelain that are custom made (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a gorgeous and attractive smile.
Veneers can completely improve your teeth and smile. They can commonly be alternatives to crowns and the ideal solution in treating many cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.
Similar to a lot of dental restorations, veneers might someday require replacement; however, they are still extremely resilient and will last many years, offering you a long lasting, lovely smile.
How Are Veneers Set?
Veneers are a dental treatment in which a covering is positioned over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are typically only done to the part of the teeth that are seen when talking or grinning. The treatment can be direct or indirect.
The direct strategy typically involves positioning composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This approach is typically referred to as bonding.
The indirect method typically involves 2 appointments because the veneers will be made at a dental laboratory. At the very first appointment the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are offered a temporary covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The laboratory produced veneers are usually made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are really esthetic.
The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is eliminated, and the treatment is normally less unpleasant. Veneers are not suggested for teeth that have big fillings or little tooth structure.
You will get care guidelines for your veneers. Appropriate brushing, flossing and routine dental visits will help in the life of your brand-new and stunning veneers.
